Kitchen Trends for 2025 – Interior Ideas for the Year Ahead

Amid the evolving landscape of interior design, there is value in creating a space that resonates with individual style, especially within the kitchen, where design and lifestyle converge. This year’s kitchen trends go beyond the surface, favouring intention over fleeting fads and celebrating the enduring marriage of craftsmanship and modern technology.

Below, we explore the trends set to take centre stage in the kitchens of 2025, inspiring spaces that blend practicality with personal expression.

Thoughtful Design

Timeless over trendy, that’s the mantra driving kitchen design in 2025. At its core is an emphasis on sustainability, craftsmanship, and furniture that stand the test of time. Clean lines and considered elements harmonise with biophilic touches such as natural materials, tactile surfaces, and calming, earthy tones.

Designers are weaving in a celebration of individuality by crafting kitchens tailored to real life, a space built not only for cooking but for gathering, living, and thriving. Bespoke design ensures that every detail reflects your specific needs, from innovative storage solutions to integrated modern technology. Crafted with care, bespoke kitchens offer unparalleled longevity and character that evolves gracefully with time.

Brass Hardware

Antique brass finishes continue to dominate kitchen hardware trends in 2025, proving that warm-toned, aged metals remain an enduring choice.

“Hardware might be a small detail within a kitchen, but it has a huge impact on your space’s overall look and feel,” says Tom Howley, Creative Design Director. “I predict we’ll start to see chrome hardware used less, as warmer metals like antique brass become even more desirable. Gold and bronze finishes lend a touch of vintage charm and pair beautifully with deep oak cabinetry, forest greens, and other rich, nature-inspired hues.”

Wellness Spots in the Kitchen

Increasingly, homeowners are creating dedicated wellness corners and cosy, tranquil nooks designed to inspire relaxation and balance.

From window seats bathed in natural light to inviting armchairs tucked into a corner, these ‘reset spaces’ offer a moment of calm amidst the hustle of daily life. Wellness spots transform kitchens into holistic spaces that nourish both body and soul by incorporating softer textures, warm lighting, and personalised design elements.

Tactile Layers and Textures

Texture is key to crafting kitchens that feel dynamic and engaging in 2025. Mixing contrasting materials and finishes invites visual interest and a tactile experience that transforms a space. Textured backboards, reeded glass, or even intricately detailed hardware bring depth and delight to every corner.

Natural woods are also making a grand return. Timeless and tactile, they imbue kitchens with warmth and character.

Must-Have Hidden Pantries

Hidden pantries, seamlessly integrated behind bespoke cabinetry, are increasingly sought after, rivalling kitchen islands as must-have additions.

Whether designed as an appliance garage, a breakfast station, or a dedicated baking zone, a well-planned pantry keeps surfaces clutter-free while ensuring everything is easily accessible.

Earthy Tones

Colour plays an essential role in defining the mood of a kitchen, and 2025 sees a deep connection to nature with earthy, grounding hues taking the spotlight. Forest greens, rich blues, and chocolate browns anchor spaces in an irresistible sense of calm. These tones can be used sparingly for dramatic accents or more boldly through colour-drenched cabinetry to add sophisticated depth.

Green, in particular, continues to reign supreme. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this shade nods to nature, creating a sense of serenity and balance in spaces that invite us to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.

Romantic Maximalism

Finally, maximalism is enjoying a revival, evident in opulent patterns, layered textures, and a more-is-more approach to design. Think Regency-inspired interiors with deep, jewel-toned hues, intricate detailing, and a sense of curated luxury.

“The romantic, layered appeal of maximalist design takes inspiration from periods like the Regency era,” says Rosalind Lang, Tom Howley, Designer. “We’re seeing a resurgence of intricate prints, rich wallpapers, and chintzy patterns, a perfect way to bring character and depth into kitchens.” She adds, “If you’re longing for inspiration, spend a day exploring a National Trust property; these grand interiors offer limitless ideas to infuse your space with romantic charm.”

Dark Kitchen Trends

Gone are the days when black was a risky choice; 2025 sees it as a confident and versatile hue that transforms kitchens into show-stopping spaces.

“Black, when thoughtfully applied, creates unparalleled drama alongside warmth and intimacy,” shares Tom Howley, Creative Design Director. “For those not ready to commit to an entirely black kitchen, try introducing a black island counter or matte black hardware for just a touch of the trend.”

Designing for 2025 and Beyond

The kitchen trends of 2025 are about so much more than aesthetics. They reflect a deeper yearning for spaces that are not only beautiful but also serve our lives with intent, purpose, and care. Whether through natural tones, artisan details, or layered textures, the key to a timeless kitchen lies in its ability to evolve with you.
